Why should you take this course?  Why take it with us?  Here is why:

1.)  We are the ONLY course in the area that provides ECIS certification—one of only two organizations that are specifically endorsed and partnered with The Boy Scouts of America to provide training to BSA leaders.

2.)  Our instructors are trained by both the ECSI and the Red Cross—the only two organizations specifically endorsed by the BSA to provide this training.

3.)  We offer not only WFA training, but also CPR and AED certification without the extra charges.

4.)  We are commonly compared to the WFA course taught by the Cleveland Metroparks.  Their course costs almost twice what ours does, is not endorsed by the BSA, does not provide CPR/AED, and does not boast the same level of instructors.

5.)  Our instructors have over 100 years of combined scouting specific experiences with numerous accolades including:  Eagle Scouts, District Award of Merit recipients, Silver Beaver recipients, summer camp staff experiences, Jamboree medical staff experience

Our instructors have countless nights of camping and miles of hiking under their belts.  Including multiple 50 miler awards and high adventure treks:  Wilderness Canoeing at Tinnerman in Canada, Off-shore sea kayaking in the Pamlico Sound along the outer banks of North Carolina, Backpacking the mountains of Philmont in New Mexico, and more!

7.)  Our instructors are not just weekend first aiders.  We have an emergency medicine physician assistant,  a full time 911 responding paramedic and an EMT on our instructional staff.  Gunshots, stabbings, broken femurs, seizures, heart attacks, diabetic emergencies, hypothermia, frostbite, CPR—you name and they have seen it, not just read about it.

8.)  Our instructors are not just  wilderness first aiders.  They are SOLO trained as Wilderness EMTs, and have undergone weeks of training on how to handle emergencies in the most remote of locations.

9.)  Our instructors are educators.  All of our instructors are certified instructors by the ECSI with some of our instructors cross trained as instructors for The American Red Cross and/or The American Heart Association.  Our course director was an educator for Ohio University and our lead classroom instructor is a certified EMS Instructor for the sate of Ohio and  teaches for the Cleveland Clinic's EMS Academy.
